The President’s Christmas Reception is something that I have photographed for 25 years. But over the last 10 or so our department (Public Relations), along with Community Relations, has put together a pretty fantastic, and always interesting, “Santa Photos” section!
Hinds Community College tailgating may not be the same as it is at a university, but we still know how to have a good time!
Even after 29 years of raising funds for student scholarships and faculty, staff and student development, the Golf Fun Fest remains Hinds Community College's most successful fundraiser.
With Valentine's Day being this week, I was thinking about those who found love here at Hinds Community College. Some were students when they met, some met through co-workers, but regardless, their love began right here at Hinds CC. And for some, it has lasted a lifetime!
The Bus Barn Barbecue has been a tradition at Hinds Community College since about 1968. This event is held usually the first or second week in December. It started out with Billy Banes, Coach Joe Renfroe, Powell Taylor (Supervisor of the Bus Barn) and Henry King (Grounds Supervisor). These guys got together and decided to cook a lunch for the Grounds and Bus Barn employees.
My boss rarely says the words “use the fisheye for that.” So when she said that very thing to me last week about a challenging photo shoot at the Hinds Community College's John Bell Williams Airport near the Raymond Campus, it got me to thinking…just how much I love this lens!
On Wednesday, Aug. 31, just before the “Meet the Eagles” pep rally, there was an attempt to make a “Hinds 100” on the football field to be photographed and videoed. The photos and videos will be used in many publications and on the web to promote the upcoming events that will celebrate Hinds Community College turning 100 years old in 2017! This blog post is about the preparation that went into making this happen.
