The Monster Mash has been a hit since Bobby Pickett first sang the song in 1964...
...and you can come and be a part of our own Monster Mash at Moss field tomorrow night starting at 6 p.m. You'll be entertained by the Hinds Community Colllege baseball and softball teams as they match up again to play a softball game that benefits the Children's of Mississippi, Batson Children's Hospital. These two teams have 'battled' at Joe G. Moss field four years before, last year being rained out and resulting in a bowling match-up at Indian Lanes in Clinton instead of a softball game. In spite of the rainout, the children, athletes and students had a blast last year and hope to rekindle the rivalry on the diamond tomorrow night. There will be fun and food for the little monsters, fairies, and imposters of all sorts on the grounds around the field.
The athletes dress up in their favorite costumes and do their best to play with masks and awkward attire getting in the way of normal softball action. What makes a challenge for them, creates a comical and entertaining event for the spectators. And all for a great cause!
So, come on out with or without a costume and support the always fun, colorful and entertaining Monster Mash at Moss. Bring a little one for popcorn, cotton candy and other treats that satisfy the sweet tooth. You'll go home with a smile on your face and a belly full of treats.
